Some Things Must Never Be Witnessed

Steph's currently in the hospital with Dr. Fitzpatrick. He left a voice message on my phone explaining that she was currently unstable. The firefighters who came a few days beforehand found her struggling with the air, dressed in a strange blue shirt she claimed she never seen before. Beside her was her sister, and I know what they are saying... Everyone seems to think that Steph killed her own sister. I spoke with her earlier, and her account reveals something entirely different. Everyone is acting like Steph is mad. Even her own father... She reminds him too much of his wife, he says. It's almost as if he expects her to go missing too. Dr. Fitzpatrick assured me she was safe with him, and he'll make sure she'll stay with him as long as she needs to. I have to say I trust his judgment. More than anyone else right now. I'm not even sure I can trust myself right now. I truly do not know what I am doing. And while I am trying, it seems like the closer I get to some new discovery the further I get from what I'm actually searching for. It's like a never ending cycle of Cat and Mouse. Only in this game nobody wins. We are at a stalemate He and I. And I've seen Him more and more out of the corner of my eye. I didn't want to tell Steph this but I think I'm seeing him too. I often try my best to ignore him, so I can return to my research, but the temptation is too overwhelming.

Apparently Mr. Nord has his own problems with the CPS. Now that Hannah is dead they are trying to take away Josh and Zach. I believe they already took Zach, because I haven't seen Mr. Nord with him. But the only person I've seen him with so far, was a bearded old man. So I could be wrong. Poor Mr. Nord. He has a lot to deal with right now. No home, no insurance, and they are trying to take away with children. He personally asked me when did everything go wrong. I wished I could answer him, but I was too busy staring at the flames. I remember thinking I saw a shadow in there. But then that shadow became four people. My memory is a bit blurred after that. In fact I don't remember anything at all. Just those four shadows, and one of them, the shadow of a girl, edging towards me, fast. I think I went inside to retrieve some papers, because all I have to retrieve from the fire are these.

The mother and child, the face, the coordinates, and a couple of blank papers, all have been pretty singed in the fire. But luckily, they aren't bad burnt. I guess I managed to get to them before the fire could do some real damage. I can't find the rest of the journal anywhere. I'm certain it's nothing but ashes now. Along with Hannah's poor body. An anonymous person is paying for her funeral and everything. Nobody knows who he is, but he claimed that he was a member of a small church on Clinton. I think it's pretty nice of him. As far as I know, Steph won't be able to attend. Not that I think she wants to go. To be honest, I don't want to either. But I must, Steph's father wishes me to be there, and I think I should for Steph's sake, if anything else. Poor Zach is clueless. He just thinks his sister is lost. But Joshua, who asked to come over to my at my house, seeming a tad bit suspicious of Steph and I. Steph may not have noticed it, but he was looking at her weird for the entirety of Saturday. It's gotten to the point where he cornered me today and demanded some answers. And I was shocked. Usually he never talks, with anyone.

"What's going on?" he asked me. I couldn't hear it at first. His voice is so soft, so quiet, like a whisper in the wind. And he knew I couldn't hear him at first, so he asked again, much louder this time. "What's going on?" It made me jump, hearing him talk to me for the first time. It didn't seem to faze him, he kept on staring at me as if accusing me of something. "What's going on?" he asked a third time. "What do you mean?" I asked back. "You know what I mean" he said knowingly. "Steph's been acting weird around the house, and you too. Something's happening." I was beginning to fear the worst, and life delivered. "She's seen him too, hasn't she?"

I was struck silent, I simply couldn't say anything. What this whole conversation implied, I had hoped it wasn't what I thought it was, but that look in his eyes told me otherwise. He knew. Oh he knew. And he wanted me to explain it to him. I refused, I had to. I couldn't just pull him into this, I couldn't let what happened to Steph happen to him. I had to protect him somehow. But he was persistent. "You're lying. You knew he was there. The entire time, you knew. Both of you did." "Please Josh, I have no idea what you're talking about." "The business man! She's seen him hasn't she? And you did too!" I could be honest about one thing, I have not yet seen him. But he seemed to think I did. I didn't know how I could explain myself to him. "He killed Hannah didn't he?" I felt a sudden sickness clutch on to my stomach, everything seemed to fall all around me, and Joshua continued to stare. "I want to know who he is." I couldn't answer him. I felt paralyzed, as if I was lost in a dream. A few inaudible sounds left my throat, but it wouldn't travel beyond my tongue. I felt like I was about to die right in front of Josh. I felt like I was about to be swallowed by the black hole in my stomach. But then something saved me.

"Joshua Nord?"

It was Mr. Hernandez, one of the two social workers from CPS in charge of the Steph's family's "case" as they call it. The one Steph constantly refers to as "Mr. Dick" and the one I recognize the easiest. And generally, he is the nice one. "Mrs. Velázquez wants to see you for a moment." I still couldn't shake that feeling that I got from Josh, who continued to stare at me even as he left. For a moment there I thought I was going to spill everything. My only hope is that he doesn't find this blog somehow. Once Josh was out of the way, Mr. Hernandez turned to me with a grave look on his face. "Rebecca, you and me will be having a talk, separate from your mother and Josh. We have some important things to discuss." "I don't wish to discuss Steph's condition right now." "This is not about Stephanie's condition, Rebecca...this is about survival."

I lead him to my room, where we could talk privately, still dazed. Luckily, I cleaned my room earlier, so he had no reason to whisk me out of my home. He seemed impressed at least. "Dancer?" he asked, looking at some of my trophy's. I nodded, "That's wonderful. You must be proud of your talent." I shrugged, it did not matter much to me. I just wanted to get this over with. "Where do you see yourself going after the end of the school year?" Again, I shrugged. "I've been considering going into Psychology sir." "Psychology?" "Yes. I want to help people." I think I said something wrong. He looked at me with a look of concern. "Yes, Stephanie is in need of a psychologist right now. But you, I'm afraid to say, just won't cut it." My face fell, I was so confused, a part of me was heartbroken. "What do you mean?" Before I knew it I had a hand on my shoulder.

"You're in danger Rebecca. Which is why I'm making you this offer. Let us help you."

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"As you are already know, there is a number of people going missing across the nation, a majority of them children..."

"What are y-"

"...I believe you knew one of these children." At first, I gazed oddly at the man before me, trying to absorb the meaning behind his words. But then it dawned on me, that terrible light of truth. "You-" "Yes, I know about the slender creature." he said. I had to bite my tongue, in order to stop myself from correcting him. "We have made it our business to know. Ever since the year 1977." "What happened in 1977." "I assume your parents told you about the blizzard of '77."

The Blizzard of '77. I vaguely remember my Earth Science teacher speaking about it in class when he was teaching us about weather patterns. It was declared a federal disaster, with over ten feet of snow from what I remember. My father told me about the cars trapped underneath heaps of snow that could pile as high as a two story house. The school buses were amongst those that were trapped, so my father told me about how he and his friends would spend the days after the wind died down outside making tunnels and climbing snow hills. He told me one of his friends once dared him to try and climb a streetlight. "It was crazy" he told me. "Yes, my father told me" I said.

Mr. Hernandez nodded knowingly. "Over twenty people died during the course and aftermath of that storm. Radio reports came out every day, it was the only method of relaying official updates to the general public. While they saved a majority of victims using this method, some people reported to be stranded in their cars weren't there when laborers uncovered the vehicle. I happened to know one of those people."

"And where does Slend- the creature, come in on all this?"

"I saw him in a dream before I heard about my friend's disappearance during the storm. I suppose you can say that's when I became interested in its existence."

"So, you think it took him."

"Not at first, no. But when you've seen as much as I have, you start having doubts. And I've seen some strange things over the course of the last thirty years." I didn't wish to invade his personal history any longer than I have. It felt weird, hearing a social worker explain these things to you. Usually a social worker would be worried about your own sanity if you shared something as fantastical as this. I don't even think I could trust him, I mean... I wanted to trust him, but there was no way I could trust a complete stranger. Yes, he was a potential ally, that much I know now. I want him to be an ally. "Which begs the question of whether it was active during the October storm of 2006." I was awoken from my daydream, perhaps I looked confused. All I could remember was not having power for eight days, and school's being closed for two weeks...trees falling.... I tried to not pay much attention to what was going outside. I didn't like the snow as a kid. It reminded me of iced waters. "I wouldn't worry about it, most probable explanation I have is that the snow and massive amounts of people stacked up on top of each other probably helped in its hunt." He sounded really uncertain, "Enough of the past. Fact of the matter is...you need help, and I hope you start evaluating your situation and abilities if you want to survive." "What abilities? What can I do? I can't help anyone. The runners are better off by themselves. I feel like I'm only making things worse trying to do something, just one thing helpful. I-I'm like a messenger pigeon with this very important letter. And I can't get through the window glass until somebody comes and opens the window. But when they do I fly inside and make a mess, I can't do anything. I have no abilities." "And you believe that these 'runners' as you call them are better off than you? Don't you think they realize that they are just as powerless?" "I don't know! I don't know! I just want to do something!" "Look at me!"

I felt a strong, thick hand grab my chin and force my face so that it was eye level with the eyes of righteous anger. They frightened me, and for a moment I was about to scream, but then those eyes softened. "Listen to me. Do not try to help. Don't even pay attention to them unless you know you have something to contribute. Trust me on this it's not worth getting all worked up over strangers who probably have problems of their own. If you want to be friends with them, it's on you whether or not you're going to be safe. We'll be regulating your posts so we can judge them for ourselves, just in case. I'd advice you to choose who you reveal information to wisely. The world is not a safe world, neither is it a forgiving one. Look around you at all times, there is danger. It's not just protection from the average predator we're focusing on anymore."

"We are the Victim Support Association. Our job is to protect the interests of those who have no defense, or are in desperately need of help but have no one else to turn to. When you're ready I want you to give us a call" His words implied that me and Steph were alone in this, and I believed him. But still...

I can't even trust myself. How am I supposed to trust him? I mean he seems to be of well nature, he gave me a private number and smiled warmly before he left. But can't warm smiles be faked? I don't know...I'm a bit overwhelmed by this. As it turns out Josh wasn't staying with me as I hoped, but she was going to life with his grandmother on his mother's side. I don't know how Mr. Nord thinks about that, but it's my assumption that he is rather upset.

Well, I suppose that's it...nothing more to say...

Keep holding on loves.

Love you all.

Steph....

What about school?

What about college?

Yes, I can take care of the children, I'll do anything for you Steph. But think about your life here. Didn't you say you wanted to be this big hotshot animator for Pixar? Didn't you say you want to see Rathya on the big screen?

Yes, I am bringing up Rathya.

You have an entire life ahead of you dear, I really want to know whether or not you're ready for this kind of change. Do you have money? Do you have a bus pass that will work during school hours? What if you run out of money? What would you do then?

How will you keep touch with us?

Please think of these things before you run off on your own, or at least read M's Turtorial a thousand times over. DON'T DO ANYTHING YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET. I cannot stress that enough dear. Ask questions. Contact people. You say you'll be finding your mother. Are you sure that's a good idea? Steph, I'm worried. This could be a trap. Can't you just run just to run?

Must you become obsessed?

I know you are worried about our deaths. I can see that in those pictures you drew. Those ARE your dreams aren't they? Oh Steph, I'm so sorry. This is my fault. I should not have gotten involved. But Steph, just know that I am behind you all the way. If you need money I'll send you some. If you need clues I'll contact Dr. Fitzpatrick. If you need a place to sleep, you are always welcome here. Just don't let yourself become his puppet, that's all I ask. I know you're worried about that too. Steph, I've known you since we were kids, playing on the swings. Remember the swings? Remember that breezy summer day? Remember the library when it was a library? Remember Caz Pool? Remember me falling in the creek and you saving me?

You were such a good swimmer. I always hoped you would join the school swim team.

But it's too late for that, right? You've got so much on your mind.

I've I can just kill this creature I would, but I can't even see him. But I could kill the Bitch.

But I can't I'm not a killer. And you're not a killer either.

Don't do anything rash...keep in touch.

I'll take care of them for you.

I promise.

They say the rainbow represents a promise. According to biblical legend God created the rainbow as a promise to the world that he would never flood it ever again. That's going to be our symbol Steph. The rainbow.

In the name of Frank right? He saved our lives didn't he?

The rainbow, Steph. I have to commend you for the wonderful background image...as shocking as it was. There will be no more sadness, you'll see.

....

Keep holding on, my dear friend. I'll be waiting for you at the end of that rainbow.

The Funeral

Okay first off, let me say something about Leon. He's not really that bad of a guy, or at least he wasn't that bad of a guy. Steph seems to think he's betrayed her. It's understandable. She was the only person who supported him other than Tiya, but Tiya's transferred to another school since last year. He's nineteen, as I already said, and still in high school. Many people aren't going to be supportive of a guy like that. Steph, surprisingly was...she feels sorry for people easily, and can come off as quite a bit trustworthy. Not anymore, it seems. She refuses to trust everybody, everybody except me, she says. I think this is all starting to get to her. She's obsessed with trolling this troll back in any way possible. She's even brought a couple of tissues with her at the funeral. I asked her why, she said it was for the troll. The Bitch.

I didn't see her at the funeral at all. I really thought she would come. It probably devastated Steph. I saw her ran off in the middle of the funeral. They were burying his ashes in a grave, and marked it by a tiny stone. It wasn't anything grand, but it did have this sort of atmosphere.

It was raining, like it's raining right now. It was raining all day actually. It's like nature knew that we were honoring the death of a wonderful, lively guy. Hm, it's funny. Just a few days ago Steph read in the paper about the Supreme Court ruling concerning Westboro Church's protest of a dead soldier's funeral. As many of you know Westboro is infamous for targeting the gay community with hate. It's no surprise that Steph was so passionate about it, she wouldn't stop going on and on about how unconstitutional it was. An army brat who has a dead gay friend...I think it struck her more sensitive areas. She was listening to Lady Gaga all day yesterday since it was the Lady Gaga concert in Buffalo. We knew at least two gay guys in our school who were going, even our Participation in Government teacher was supposed to be going. She called me crying, rambling on about how Frank was supposed to send her pictures of the concert through her phone.

I'm beginning to wonder just how much this affected her. I couldn't find her anywhere after the funeral. We had a couple people sent out to search for her in the batch of trees near the graveyard. I wasn't allowed to go with them, of course. My words did not help to woe them into letting me search. An hour went by, and she still didn't come. I was getting worried.

She finally showed up at the gate of the graveyard, fending off some unknown thing. I don't think she even noticed I was there until I had to snap her out of it. The most she had was a bloody nose, thankfully. Nothing serious happened to her. I asked her what she was thinking, running off like that. She told me, "I saw her. She was in my dreams."

"I think we knew each other."

I'm going to try talking her into posting about what happened in the forest. But right now all she's focused on is finding out who this person is.

I think she also saw Slender Man. I'm going to call her later today to check on the poor dear.

Keep holding on, love. <3

Sorry about not posting yesterday guys (I'm back, by the way)

I was busy....reading stuff....on this Slender Man dude. Okay, can someone say Creeperstein? How many people does this guy stalk anyways? I lost count after the tenth blog (not that I was counting in the first place). Yes, I admit, I was sort of stupid to believe that this shit wasn't real. I realize that now. But since he just killed my best friend I suppose I have no choice now don't I? I mean, what if this guy's stalking me too? I bet he's out there right now, looking out my window...

Only he's not. Heh.

I wonder why, is he busy with all of these other people? Does he follow some sort of schedule? Some people say he can travel through time and space (does this mean he's an extra dimensional alien?), Rebecca had to explain the entire thing to me, and why he managed to disappear with Frank right in front of my eyes. I'm still shaken up about that. I think about him all the time you know? I keep thinking about him, that day, and Frank. But there's always someone else there, someone watching. I know who she is, I know I see her before, but now that she's bothering my friends I want to know her name, her address, everything so I can beat the crap out of her.

Yeah, I'm mad, I'm mad as hell. But it's not Rebecca's fault, so I can't blame her. I don't even know who to blame for all this. I guess I blame myself... even though Rebecca insists that I'm not to blame. "Everyone is in the same boat, some have it worse then others". Who's everyone? The people who write the blogs and post videos on Youtube? Or everyone, everyone. You guys believe that writing about him would make him stronger right? Tulpa Effect or something? So why the hell we do it? I'm an optimist so I like to think it's a sort of confidence booster. Sure, a lot of these blogs are tragic to read, I think I cried once or twice last night. But at the same time reading the blogs touched my heart in a weird, fluttery, way. It makes me want to join them, but as Rebecca said countless times, I really can't. That is unless Josh here can learn to take care of himself. *glares*

I know where I would go if I were to run. New York City. It worked for M right? And I do live in Buffalo. So, why the hell not? I think I thought about stowing away on an airplane during my stay in the hospital... I was pretty depressed. You may not realize it with the way I act around people, but I'd like to say I cried enough to fill a pool. A small pool, not a public pool, but you get the idea. I was supposed to watch Repaul's Drag Race and be tested on it by him. But I can't do that now, I guess. I was really looking forward to it too.

We were also supposed to go to college together, in California. We both got accepted and I already sent most of my stuff in.

Fuck my life.

And to any gay/drag haters right now I want to say one thing from the bottom of my heart: Just once, can you bring yourself to have a bit of compassion? If not, well fuck you then. Everyone have a moment of silence for Frank Anthony Williams Jr.

The watermark at the beginning ruins it, but it's the thought that counts right? Sorry for stealing your picture Rebecca...

I know, it sucks, but I spent all night working on it.

The funeral is this Saturday. There's not going to be a wake. I think they're going to cremate his body and bury the ashes. Or something like that. I'm not sure what they'll do, I've never had to go to a funeral before.

Nobody close to me has died before.

I'm borrowing my mom's little black dress, she has no need for it at the moment, now that she's away. Oh right, didn't I tell you guys? They sent her away to some other hospital, the bastards. Now Dr. Fitzpatrick is completely in charge of me at the moment. I can't say whether or not he's particularly happy, but I'd say he's close to being upset. Well, at least I managed to spend some "quality time" with my mother before she left. And what did I do? I asked her the most idiotic question you could ask your sick mother. I asked her what she knew about Slender Man. Like I said, not the best idea in the world. I have never seen her so angry, I swear she was about to choke me. It's funny, I was more focused on defending myself against the white coats that were trying to restrain her as oppose to defending myself against my crazed mother. Because, she was, you know, my mother. I didn't want to see a bunch of jerks in white holding her down like that regardless of how insane she supposedly is. They make her out to be stupid. Let me tell you this, I know she knows something. Something just keeps her from saying anything, whether it be fear or something else. She started laughing immediately once they managed to hold her down, but I swear she was crying. I could see tears forming from her eyes.

They didn't let me see her again after that. But I managed to talk to Dr. Fitzpatrick about her. Guess what? Apparently he knew her from the time she was my age (actually two years younger). She always had problems, he said. She always would claim that she could see a man, stalking her day in night; on the streets, in her home, in her dreams. Apparently it all began with the death of a best friend, it drove her into a depression worse then mine (although according to him I'm handling this well, yay me). A few months later she met a guy who was supposed to comfort her, she expected him to comfort her, but it turns out he was a jerk who cheated on her and left her when he got another girl pregnant. Something along those lines. My memory's kind of hazy. Once again she went into a state of depression, almost breaking and losing her mind to grief. Church saved her, she actually told me this. Don't ask me how or why, I'm not much of a church person myself to be honest, but the hope that they gave her kept her together. Dr. Fitzpatrick told me he left her alone during those times. But then, some months after her graduation, he heard word that she had come back from boot camp in the Air Force which she planned on going to after high school (I know this because I read her yearbook from the 80s, yeah I'm such a bad girl). I asked him why she was brought back, he told me that she was suffering from psychosis at the time, and having Bi-polar like symptoms at the time. He didn't know what actually happened at the boot camp, apparently. This time it was my dad that saved her. I asked him if he ever witnessed any instances where mom went batshit insane before. He says no, but I feel like he's lying. He wouldn't look me in the face and started crying and hugging me, whispering that we would get through this together. I think that he thought I was bothered by something....

He's right, but I'm not going to tell him anything until he gives me answers. In the meantime I'm going to contact the mysterious troll (or "Bitch" as Rebecca calls her) since apparently she hates Rebecca. And who could blame her? (I'm kidding, by the way).

In the meantime I'll continue to plan for....

Yeah. I don't even think I want to watch Repaul anymore. Not even in his memory.

Stephanie's finally coming home

We're going to leave in a bit to pick her up. She was supposed to come back Thursday, but something came up. Perhaps the person who is most happy about this is her father, Mr. Nord. I've been very busy all week, taking care of Stephanie's siblings. They are quite a handful. I have been checking in every now and then, and I must say things are as crazy as ever. Jeff's leaving us it seems, something I cannot accept. I mean, after all he did he's just going to leave? After providing a cure to so many people? It's just...mind boggling. But I suppose...this calls for a farewell?

Goodbye Jeff. That cure of yours is brilliant.

Zeke...Zeke's talking to himself in the mirror. Other people would think this is crazy, but as a believer in Jungian Psychology I actually think this might be a good thing. I'm not too sure why Zeke's subconscious looks like a person named Eric Riley, but I suppose there is a reason for everything.

Robert's back. Kind of. Redlight is not just one person as it seems, but an entire network of people, who know what we do before we do it, possibly using the Dark World that has been described by Robert. It does make sense, but it also complicates things. If there are more then one Redlight, then how do we beat them? We need to find some way to know who is who and when and where. It's all so confusing. I suppose we can try and find a way to break into their communication network. If that's even possible...

Cynthia is in charge of everything now that Redlight left for reasons I do not know, and I doubt any of us will ever know. But it seems Cynthia's fighting his influence. So there's something to have hope about. I just hope she succeeds. It would nice to get to know the old Cynthia.

As for me, I've been busy preparing for Frankie's funeral. So far I managed to help the family contact all his relatives and friends, find a good funeral home and prepare for his wake. I've asked around and finally decided on the song that should be played at his funeral.

Steph told me he showed this to her once during their art class. He said it was supposed to be their graduation song. Too bad he will never get that chance to graduate now. Slender Man...words cannot describe how angry I am. Why did he have to chose him? If he was going to punish me why not kill me instead? But then I suppose Steph would have no one to talk to. I suppose she'll be all alone then...I don't even know if I want to witness what would happen afterwords. She's so fragile, I'd like to think. Yet she's very good at hiding it. I can't even tell if she's sad over Frank's death or not. She just always wears that smile, that silly smile of hers. Yet I know, that she's hurting inside. I can tell. I can see it in her eyes. I've asked her if she had any dreams lately. She claims she has, but she doesn't remember them. There have been times, she says, when she felt a need to draw, but decided against it. She's afraid of what she would draw. On Wednesday she spoke with Dr. Fitzpatrick about everything, but doesn't want to tell me what they talked about. "I'll tell you when I come back", she said. She also had some talks with her mother, something I couldn't do. It's because they are relatives, I suppose.

In the meantime I keep trying to contact our mysterious troll. The bitch won't answer any of my E-mails. I don't understand, why won't she talk to me?

I'm beginning to think she will only talk to Steph and Steph alone.

The Visit

I just got back from the hospital. Words cannot describe how I feel right now. I managed to meet up with Stephanie. She isn't as bad as I thought she was. She only has a few broken bones. She should be released by next week at the latest. Which means this entire week is now a big waste. That's not the worst of it.

She saw him. She saw him.

She told me during the conversation we had in her room. The nurse allowed us to speak alone with each other for fifteen minutes. I took this time to ask her about what happened Saturday night. Here's an excerpt of what we talked about:

(I sit in a chair next to Steph's bed. She looks tired, like she hasn't slept for weeks. There is cut around her cheek area. She smiles at me.)

Stephanie: Rebecca, I'm so glad you're hear. The service here is terrible. Have you seen they crap they feed you here? I'd rather eat dirt!

(I hug her before she could say anything else. I think I crushed a few ribs)

Me: Steph! You're okay!

S: Uh...am I?

M: You're not dead!

S: Uh....yeah, I'm still breathing aren't I? Although I won't be for long if you won't let go of me.

(I let go of her)

M: Steph, I've been so worried...you don't even know. That night-

(She interrupts me)

S: I know.

M: Steph, Frank is dead!

(Stephanie falls silent. This is the first time I have ever a look of genuine fear in her eyes.)

M: Steph?

(She breaks down. For a moment I thought the nurses would come in on us.)

S (between sobs): It's not fair! He didn't do anything! He didn't deserve this! Tell me it isn't true! Please!

M: I'm...I'm sorry Steph. If there's anything I can do-

S: No! Don't even try it Rebecca. It's too late now. He's gone. I didn't want to believe it at first but that thing...

M: What are you talking about Steph?

S: Rebecca, what did you call that faceless guy in a suit? Tall Man or something?

(I fall silent. There was nothing I could say)

M: What happened on Saturday Steph? You've got to tell me.

S: You didn't see it? It was right there, right in front of you and you didn't see it? God Rebecca, have you gone blind or something? Tall guy! Faceless! In a suit! It had tentacles and shit. It looked like he was going to anal rape you or something. What the fuck? You really didn't see it?

M: Steph, I really don't know what you're talking about-

S: Frank ran after it Rebecca! Don't tell me you didn't see?! He was trying to protect you!

M: Oh....oh my...

S: Yeah, you see?

M: I'm so sorry Steph.

S: DON'T APOLOGISE. Geez, you make it seem like you killed Frank...

M: Um...

S: Anyways, I should be the one apologizing. In fact, I have a confession to make.

M: What?

S: I...kind of sort of....knew it existed from the beginning.

M: WHAT?

S: I didn't want to admit to it because really the entire thing seemed kind of silly. I mean, come on, a faceless monster wearing a business suit? How dumb can you get? But when I saw how similar that thing you kept on talking about (what's his name?) I couldn't ignore the fact that I never heard of this guy before, so I couldn't have been hallucinating it. But I didn't want to admit that I believed that some faceless dude was stalking my mother. Not yet anyways. And then this crap happens so now I have no choice but accept it. We're fucked Rebecca.

M: So what about Leon? Do you know what happened to him?

S: Ugh, don't even mention that jerk's name to me.

M: Why? What happened?

S: Remember when Frank lunged at what's-his-face?

M: Um...I suppose...

S: Well, they were wrestling with each other and shit, Frank and what's-his-face. I tried running after him but Leon the bitch stopped me, telling me that it was already too late and shit. Motherfucker. This is Frank we're talking about! So the thing disappeared, taking Frank along with it, screaming like a fucking banshee on crack, and I couldn't do anything about it! I was this close to punching the shit out of Leon. But he fucking ran away before I could do anything. That coward. He fucking ran away. I tried running after him but everything caved in on me. The last thing I remember was being surrounded by a bunch of worried faces.

M: I don't understand...that doesn't sound anything like Leon.

S: Well, it looks like his true colors finally revealed themselves huh?

M: So what do we do now?

(Steph shrugs)

S: I dunno, wait? Fuck, Rebecca, you're supposed to know what we're dealing with, why don't you tell me? How the hell did you find out Frank was dead anyways?

M: I...um...I found his body...

S: What the fuck?

M: I don't want to explain the details, but it was back at the park, near the bridge by the soccer field...

S: Oh yeah, I know what you're talking about. That one creek that nobody cares about?

M: Um...yeah....

S: Dammit. Have the police found it yet?

M: I'm not entirely sure. But I did tell them about it.

S: Good, maybe they can find Leon.

M: Steph, I'm not too sure...

S: Shut up. Now, about whats-his-name-

M: Slender Man.

S: Really? ...Alright....About Slender Man. Who the hell is he and what does he want with me?

M: Um...this is a bit hard to explain...

S: Lay it on me.

So I tell her everything, I told her about the blogs, Marble Hornets, my own experiences with the mysterious trolls. I couldn't tell what Steph was thinking throughout the entire story, but I know she was a bit dazed. It was so much for her to take it in, that there were other people suffering due to this creature's existence. She just kept on asking questions, some of them I couldn't even answer. I'm scared. I was the only one that couldn't see it that night. Why? Why me? Steph tells me not to worry about it, but that only makes me worry more. I'm supposed bookmark all of the blogs I want her to read so she can research this guy. But what if it targets her more. What if she becomes her mother? Steph told me that I'm starting to sound like she did at the beginning of this madness, maybe I am, but I just can't take it. It's too much...

I managed to see Dr. Fitzpatrick. He seemed awfully agitated, and he kept on muttering the same words over and over again; "It's too soon", "You promised me". I don't exactly know what it means, but Dr. Fitzpatrick prescribed Steph even more medicine from the looks of it. So that means she'll be sleeping even more now...

I tried seeking audience with Mrs. Nord. I thought if anyone, she would know what's happening since she was the first to be targeted by this thing. But the nurses denied me entrance, she is not allowed any visitors apparently. But why? Is she really that damaged in the head? I'd like to not think so, but there's something fishy about that hospital. It doesn't feel right whenever I'm inside.

I'm not going to think about it now. I just need to relax...

Seems impossible, now that I know he's actively threatening the both of us. I'm almost considering running away, but I can't. I still have people I need to take care of. And if he tries to kill anyone else I...

I don't even know.

Maybe I can take out my anger on the mysterious troll....invite her to tea....have a little chat....

No, that's silly.

Visiting Stephanie

I'll be leaving to visit Stephanie at the hospital soon. One of Mr. Nord's friends is going to take me. Perhaps I can find out her views on what happened Saturday evening. Why did Frank suddenly run at nothing like that? What happened in the forest? And perhaps what happened to Leon. She is the only person I can trust with this information now. Steph, I'm so sorry...

Will update later today.

I Don't Know What Happened

I remember Steph and Frank singing and dancing to Ke$ha. It was really annoying. Then Leon begun acting strange. He was yelling angrily, something about the wheel not working. Then time went by and I noticed we were going the wrong way. I asked Leon about it but he wouldn't answer. I tried talking to Steph and Frank but they were far too busy...partying? I had to nudge the earplugs out of their ears to awake them from their daze. Everyone freaked out immediately, we had no idea where we were. Before we could question anything a car appeared out of nowhere.

I took the wheel immediately. But something was wrong. I couldn't control it. It was like the wheel had a mind of its own. I looked up when I saw a flash of white light. Our car swerved and...

All I remember after that was waking up in a playground of some sorts. I was right next to the swings, and my friends were somewhere nearby, it looked like they were shouting, but I couldn't hear them, at all. I thought I had become deaf. There was this pain in my head, and my stomach felt terrible. I felt like I was being ripped to shreds. Then I blacked out. The only thing I remember before then was Frank running towards nothing. He looked so angry, like he was about to punch someone.

I just recently woke up, right at my computer. There was blood on my clothes and my new trenchcoat was missing. The tickets to I Am Number Four was right next to my keyboard. And on my computer was my gmail account. Someone had opened it up.

It had this message.

I watched the video several times, it was the same song my friends were singing during the ride home. And I have just now discovered that someone posted the same video on this blog. I don't know who this person, but I know it isn't Steph. I have a feeling it's the same person who sent Steph all those emails, and now she's/he's sending me emails. The question is, I don't know how she got a hold of Steph's password. I never told anybody and...oh goodness...I can't remember her password. But I have great memory! How could this be?

Something's up here. I don't know what but something's wrong. I tried calling Steph, Frank, and Leon but they won't answer their phones. What happened?

I'm worried.

Those coordinates are obviously a clue. I'm going to try looking them up and see what comes up.

EDIT:

Found something.

I recognize the location. It's in Caznovia park. The park I've warned Steph about. This person is obviously tainting me.

And look.

This seems familiar...

Hmm....I wonder.....

Dr. Fitzpatrick

Tall, lean. A tad bit pale. Red headed, naturally. Dr. Fitzpatrick, the sort of guy who you can't help but think he was the sort of kid who grew up as a nerd in high school. Or at least, the sort who would've been seen as one. Freckles, those thick rimmed glasses, pens in the breast pocket. The entire deal. He seemed to intimidate Steph when I took her to visit him, along with the physicist. I'm not entirely sure the reason, but psychiatrists seem to irk Steph. A lot, actually. She wouldn't even look at him. But he seemed kind enough. He didn't necessarily show any ill will, and didn't seem to mind my presence. He had even let me come in with her, and watch their session once I told him I was a friend. Although it could be because I had Steph's dream journal.

Steph's still cross with me about that. Although it wasn't like I could ignore it. I looked through some of the pictures, and some of them... they were different from the ones posted online. She was hiding them. I'll try to post them tomorrow, they're strange to say the least. When she said she wasn't dreaming...I think she was lying.

We talked to Dr. Fitzpatrick about the pill. As he described it those were normal side effects, and should wear down shortly. "All stress relievers cause drowsiness", as they are depressants, I suppose. I ask him about lack of dreams, he smiled, stating that a lack of dreams were a normal side effect as well. Then I show him the dream journal. The new images...he said they couldn't be dreams.

How is psychiatrist supposed to know these things anyways?

But he seemed to know what he was doing. His manner was professional, kind. He always looked thoughtful. I tend to like people like that. Somehow they seem trustworthy.

But if Steph wasn't dreaming, what could these images be?

The psychiatrist suggested that Steph was in a fit of inspiration...inspiration to make these?

I don't know.

But after the session, Steph randomly suggested that she went to the park this weekend. Should I let her? She's still kind of sick (even though she insisted she goes to school tomorrow).

We also got to visit her mother today...I was made to stand outside. Steph came out shaken, to the point of tears. She refused to talk about her mother's problems. Mr. Nord (who was off today) was the strongest of the two. But he was just as suspicious of Dr. Fitzpatrick as Steph was, perhaps more so. I asked him why, and he told me that he had no problem with psychology, but Dr. Fitzpatrick is doing it the wrong way. Something about pills, he dislikes them, with a passion it seems.

"Medicine does not cure a person from insanity" was his words.

Which got me thinking about the cure.

I can't help but wonder if it really works.

Well.

I fortified the Nord home. I won't say how because I can't risk Steph getting mad at me, it will only make things worse. In the meantime, I'm going to try to ask her why she wants to go to the park. It's too cold for that.

Perhaps the movies will suit her needs better. I have two tickets. ;]

Steph's Sick

I'm at her home right now. It's freezing here. Steph wasn't able to explain what happened when I asked her why it was so cold. Apparently the furnace got busted. I went to check it and everything. Absolutely no flame whatsoever. So that means no hot water. Stephanie's father whose vacation recently ended, was furious. Luckily the power works, so we'll be having TV dinner today. I offered Steph the chance to stay at my place again, but she refused. "I'm not going after last time, so you can forget it" were her own words. The cold temperatures has apparently caused her sickness, or something to that effect, but she also tells me that one of her siblings had strep throat. Not too sure what to believe at the moment.

I managed to meet her social worker in person today. She isn't that bad. She's actually kind of nice, and funny, really. She had pretty much the same reaction I had when she entered the home. I had to convince her that it was nothing to worry about though, since Steph was almost to the point of pulling her hair out. I think Steph's being a wee bit too judgmental in this case.

She refuses to come out of her room. And seems content with just sleeping all day. It's as if that's all she wants to do right now. She won't even do the homework I brought her. I asked her why she hadn't updated her blog yesterday, and she told me that the internet wasn't working. But it's working perfectly.

Huh?

Now I see what Steph was talking about, it is weird. I'm almost certain that this isn't some normal technical difficulties now. Although Steph tells me that it happens every now and then since Saturday. Mr. Nord is currently thinking about switching to another internet provider. I'm not too sure whether that will help or not, to be honest. But we shall see.

I've heard about the killing of innocents. Wow, these people are very unimaginative aren't they? You would think they would know that it's absolutely pointless. Even if they were to win any "favor" (which seems to be what they are attempting to do) it won't last that long. How can people be this blind? It...it just confuses me is all.

Lucien, good luck. I know you can do it.

Keep holding on guys. <3

Steph wasn't at school today

Steph where were you? I had a Valentine cookie waiting for you. It had a message of hope, pink frosting, all customized for you. I swear, that girl. Everyone was worried sick. You'd think that people weren't capable of worrying about what happened to one person. Although, I shouldn't be talking, really. Considering what is currently happening.

Reach, Ava, Kay, Lucien, Robert.

Stay safe. That's all I can say to you. You are all my source of inspiration. I hope you can manage to defeat the aggravation of a man, Redlight. I'm counting on you all, I know you can do it. Kay and Lucien, keep an eye out for each other. I'm not quite sure I can bear thinking about what might result if the worst happened to you. I have to say you're the most wonderful set of siblings ever to exist, even though you make a few mistakes here and there. ;) I hope you forgive me for pestering you two.

Redlight probably won't be able to read this but I only have one thing to say:

"Please disappear."

It is unfortunate that won't happen any time soon from the looks of things, but it would be nice. Please note, I did not necessarily say kill, but that's mainly due to the fact that I'm not entirely sure I want to kill any of these people. Since, it has been proven that they can be cured. Or at least I hope that is the case. Not to mention I'm curious about this supposed "cure" Redlight has. If anything, it seems like it's something that could become useful, if in the right hands. This is only a mere idea, of course, it doesn't necessarily mean I'll do it. I don't want to even read Redlight's name right now. Nor ever.

Still.

Enough about the Slender Man blogosphere (Steph, if you ever see this, I know what you will say, so it's alright if you yell), Steph I saw your last post.

What?

That, doesn't make any sense. Internet cropping out? I'm willing to think it's...ahem..."You Know Who" that did it. Even though I never considered he would be able to interfere with the internet connection itself. Steph, I'm going to come over. Yes. I am going to come over there and take care of you.

Wait for me, alright?

I don't think I like the sound of that E-mail.

Done With Marble Hornets

Well, I fell asleep at my computer, but I have finished the videos. I'm now starting to read some of the blogs, beginning with Encyclopedia Slenderia, which seems to be where I can find the most information on this creature. That Totheark, or Masky, or whomever you call him, there seems to be others like him. The call them "Proxies", and they seem to be with Slender Man. It seems sort of a stretch, that this creature needs servants. I've never heard of a horrific being with servants....except vampires, maybe. Is Slender Man a vampire?

...No, I don't think so.

Then there's the Operator Symbol. I have never heard of this symbol in my life, but from what people are saying it seems to act as a Slender Man repellent. The problem is, others are saying it draws Slender Man to his victims. I'm not about to chance it with such inconsistencies, before I try to do that I'll need to research for whom it worked and why first. Personally, I'll do anything to keep Steph safe. She's sleeping like a baby at the moment. Usually she'd be at church right now, but I come from an agnostic family, so she got to sleep in today. After a talk with her father last night we agreed she'll be coming home after school tomorrow. My mother already said she'll be bringing her things to her home. Mr. Nord told me that meanwhile, he'll be taking his wife out for dinner tonight to ease her nerves. I wished them luck, hopefully a bit of romantic fun can aide in Mrs. Nord's recovery from her illness.

Speaking of illness, victims being hunted by the Slender Man are said to develop a "slendersickness". Now, Steph has not begun coughing as of yet, nor does she have a fever. Although...she has refused to eat her Spaghetti last night, much to my mother's dismay, and seems to feel a bit warm. Does this mean she'll get the sickness soon?

I'm beginning to think about leaving her home, just thinking about these symptoms of a victim that are being listed.

I asked Steph to bring me the dream journal that she records her dreams in, thinking that I might some of the codes or cryptic messages listed as one of the symptoms. I found nothing. However, she did post that one rather cryptic video....

I have to keep an eye on her even after she leaves so it seems.

One of the many advice that is given in these blogs is to run. It seems that's the best way to survive him. At least, according to M it is, and he seems to have evaded the creature longer than anybody else. That's good to hear, that it is possible to evade him. Although, I don't think I can convince Steph to do something like that at the moment. I don't think she would run, she doesn't even seem able. Steph wouldn't be able to survive out in the world as far as I'm concerned. It would be too much on her poor head to suggest such a thing. It's bad enough, she hallucinated saw this creature. Not to mention, her mother seems to be a victim in this as well, and I don't think Steph will want to leave her after that. The way she cried when I was trying to separate them.... Yes, it will be very difficult. But I suppose I can try if it seems so important. In the meanwhile, I'm going to research this "Operator Symbol", perhaps see if there are other ways I can fortify the house. The masks, I don't want to do. Not after watching that Totheark guy on camera. And from the looks of Marble Hornets, taping yourself doesn't seem to help much, we don't have any cameras anyhow. One of the other advices I've taken special interest to is to not accept invitations, which is what that dream Steph keeps having seems to be. I'm definitely not allowing her to go to the park now. I like H(a)unting's advice the best. Not panicking seems to be the best move we can make at the moment. There seems to be some conflict about groups, however, but I like to think it's better for me and Steph to stay together than for us to separate. Maybe later, but not now when we're all losing our heads.

It's kind of funny actually, I'm doing all of this research yet I have seen no hint of Slender Man, does he not want to target me for some reason? Was he really just a hallucination after all? What is keeping him from hunting me? What makes Steph so special? What makes her mother so special? Now that I think about it, from Steph's description it seemed to be her mother he was attacking.

Could it be that her mother knew about him before the both of us?

I'm debating whether I should do more research. But for now, I must thank the man who provided me this garden of information. Perhaps even get in touch with some other victims. See what they say. And read up on past blogs while I'm at it. Learn from the mistakes of others.

Salutations

I made Steph make me an admin. For plenty of reasons. Mainly a video she posted earlier that I needed to get rid of. What have I told you about putting yourself in that mindset Steph?

Well, it's not like Steph can see this anyways. She is banned from the computer until I can calm her down. She refused to leave when I came to fetch her, crying hysterically, clinging to her mother who sat there smiling in a creepy manner. I had to use force to pry her away, and she kept on asking me to kill her so she could wake up. So, she's banned from using knives as well, as a result.

She's pretty shaken up.

Until then I will be posting regularly on her condition as promised to her father.

Mr. Nord is a kind man, for a Marine. If he's as shaken up as Steph about this situation, he's really good at hiding it. He didn't seem too troubled, just concerned for his wife and child, as you'd expect from a father. I was so glad to have talked to him. To think this rough looking man had such a passion for classical literature. Steph is so lucky to have a father like him. I hated my own father.

Me and Steph are polar opposites, so to speak. She is uncertain while I know exactly what I want in life. She is timid (believe it or not) and shy, while I'm usually the one to lead a conversation along. She's an optimistic dreamer, while I'm a realist. She's stubborn, while I'm very accepting. A lot of this sounds like I'm gloating, I'm sure. But it is the simple truth that Steph has far more strength than I in certain situations. It's just in this situation things seem to not be going her way. I wish I can give you the whole story, but Steph still won't let me know what happened. She's always so...stubborn. Yes, that is the word. Poor girl. I wish I could end this all.

I recently begun researching the phenomenon known as Slender Man. A faceless man as tall as a tree, with disjointed limbs and a black suit. A bit too human sounding for my tastes, yet people seem so terrified of him. Steph refuses to look at my computer screen because she knows what I'm looking at. Instead, she's helping herself to my copy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. I tried seeing what play she was reading but she kept on edging away. It must've been important. To say the least.

Dinner should be available soon. My own mother agreed to make Spaghetti for our dear guest who had finished her coffee awhile ago. It seemed to have calmed her for the most part, although she is still paranoid and is constantly pitching herself as if she believes she is asleep. Poor dear, whatever she saw, hallucination or not, seems to have shaken her up. But the more I research this "Slender Man", the more convinced I become that it wasn't a simple hallucination.

It's all very frightening really.

From what I've read, he has the ability to distort technology, which explains the television and the lights acting out. He can teleport, which explains him disappearing and reappearing. Only one thing doesn't quite add up; does he not target only children? Apparently he targets young adults, even forty-year-olds, but it seems rather strange. Also, he's supposed to prefer the forest, but why did he attack Mrs. Nord in her own house? Or can he leave the forest whenever he wants? From the looks of the photos of him that seems to be the case. However, I don't think Steph should consider visiting the park any longer. In fact I'd rather she forget about this silly girl altogether. It all seems so dangerous now. I know Steph won't agree with this, but it's for her own good.

Dinner's ready, got to go.
